The Gaelic King (AKA The Gael King / Dalriata's King) is an epic and adventurous fantasy action feature film.
An iconic Scottish production
The film is set and shot entirely in Scotland. We have a production office in Edinburgh and one in Glasgow. The primary location base was in Airth, Falkirk but the film includes a selection of Scotland's finest landscapes.
The film is now complete and being distributed. On 10th July 2017 it was released in the UK and Ireland on DVD and Amazon.
Who's behind The Gaelic King?
The Gaelic King was produced by up-and-coming independent Scottish production company Fellowship Film. The Gaelic King is their debut feature film. Fellowship Film is headed up by award-winning filmmaker Philip Todd.
How was the film made?
Now that's the question! We started in a rather unconventional way - by constructing a village! During this process we were able to gather a team and start building the film, piece by piece, with our own bare hands.

Our approach is to start from the position of how we can best use what we already have; in particular we are about prioritising people, and valuing each member of the team. This led to a unique and encouraging atmosphere throughout the production, enabling everyone to do their best work.
Near the end of the journey we were delighted to form a partnership with sales agent Truffle Pictures who helped us finish and distribute the film.
